For the first time...

The Emergency Department of the Christian Medical College, Vellore was the first medical institution in the country to introduce a structured training program for the early management of Trauma. Based on the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) of the American College of Surgeons, this Course is an indigenous program conceptualised, developed and validated by trained Instructors from the Faculty of the Christian Medical College, Vellore.

Started in 1997, the Early Management of Trauma Course (EMTC), is designed to provide hands-on experience in prioritisation and early management of trauma. Conducted twice /thrice a year, it comprises of lectures, scenarios and ‘skill stations’ on various aspects of trauma evaluation & management.

Open to ...

EMTC is open to all First Responders of Trauma – doctors and nurses, irrespective of specialty. The number of delegates is restricted to 25 on first-come first-served basis. Spot registration is unavailable. Watch this website for exact dates of the next course. Send in your Registration form and draft as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. For those accepted for the program, the course Manual would be dispatched 2 weeks prior to the Course. Delegates are expected to qualify in the Theory and Practical examination securing a minimum of 85% in each, for certification.

CME Credits...

The course has been reviewed and accepted by The Centre for Accreditation, Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University and is designated 20 credit points in category 3, for those who qualify in the above examinations.
